Breckenridge, CO, is home to the Ullr Fest, a weeklong carnivale dedicated to the Norse god of Snow.
I just checked and it just finished up! Rats. I should’ve been announcing it. It went from 1/4 > 1/10.
Well, it’s something we can celebrate all winter long, I should think.
They have a big bonfire where you can burn your old broken or bad luck skis. There’s a parade through town.
But my take on it is that we can fly our CHRISTMAS LIGHTS all the dark winter long to celebrate Ullr. The colorful lights do wonders in the battle against S.A.D. Spread the good cheer of winter! I know I like seeing ours…
