Sparks are kicksleds. They’re popular in Scandanavia. David Dermott is a helpful popularizer of them over here in Nor-Am.

Sparks are made with thin metal runners to glide on ice or they can be fitted with wider runners for gliding on snow. They’re even used in various kinds of racing. Of course.
In Scandiland they’re often used like a bike around town on snowy, icy streets and sidewalks in winter. Kids use them to go to school. They easily carry a load in their basket area and can even be used to easily push people along.
Their vibe strongly relates to the sport of Nordic Skate ice touring. Dave Dermott and his friends often combine them on the same outing.
