[UPDATE: I have to RETRACT my good review of these boots. I’ve used mine a few times now and they’re falling apart. RATS! Actually, I’m gluing them back together and wish to keep using them. We’ll see how they play out. The outer pleather material of the uppers CRACKS where it flexes across the forefoot. I’ve been patching the cracks with my new G-Flex West Systems flexible epoxy. I also poked the material once hard with a stick while skiing and it sliced pretty easily—patched that, too. Caution!]
I just received a pair of these (rather) lowcut Madshus Tour Boots. They’re $49 — 45% off.
The “BCX” binding note in the listing seems like a typo—that’s what the shop guy thought. They’re just NNN. They fit my bindings fine (haven’t skied with em yet though).
They seem like an E width, with huge toe-box. This is rare in ski boots.
Also, FYI, their size 43 is the same as Rossi’s size 44.
These seem like dandy boots for good trails and stable terrain—if you’re skiing much homebrew trail I suggest something with a low, light pivoting cuff—it’s a great innovation for stability. Beware of the taller, heavier combi boots, though, unless you have steep, tricky terrain and won’t be going out for very long.
