I like skiing a long way in an outing.
So here’s an idea for next year.
Head over to Canada in February and in the course of 9 days — 2 weekends and a week:
*1st weekend: ski the 100-mile two-day Canada Ski Marathon (CSM)
*during the week one day: ski the Big Loop 90-mile loop of mostly groomed trail around the perimeter of Gatineau Park, Ottawa
*2nd weekend: ski the two World Loppet events, the Gatineau Loppet 53k classic marathon on Sat then the 53k skate marathon on Sunday.
(For fun during the week you’d also want to ice skate on the Rideau Canal in historic downtown Ottawa. The CSM starts north of Montreal — that would be a cool place to spend a couple days at early on.)
…Oh, then drive home. Yeah, you could do that in 9 days.
