Is there a Nordic resort out there yet which has developed an expert loop of the sort that are ubiquitous today at mtbike trails and alpine resorts?
If not, isn’t Nordic off the back?
If not, I suppose the reason is that Nordic can’t resolve its liability in the same way that mtbiking and alpine can?
I remember as late as the early 80’s when our regional XC included … (shock and awe) … really challenging trails. Might we ever see such skiing again? Remember, these were enjoyed on crappy gear and crappy grooming. We have no excuse today. Our gear is sweet.
I’d like to see double-black diamond Nordic trails. Anywhere have them?
And I’m still just plain surprised that we don’t have features on spur loops, etc., off of such trails. Jumps, banks, etc. High beams? Trails going high in the sky? Why do bikers and boarders get to break all the bones?
Maybe someone has links to XC trails that are now doing this. It’s gotta happen.
Heck, this kind of thing starts underground. Don’t need no steenking policy or permission. I still see mtbike features hiding out in the woods even though it’s now legit. You can’t keep kids from building fun stuff. Don’t XC skiers like fun?
Are the Nordic skiers building their own technical courses?
I’m an old fart and *I* build technical courses! Can you imagine what YOUNG and NIMBLE skiers could do? Hello?
Someone has to be putting 2’n’2 together out there. They made skis for it (Jib Skis, for a year) for crikey sakes!
