The barefoot movement is coming on strong. Shoes are bad for feet, I guess. The idea is that feet readily adapt to being used bare and then they don’t get hurt as often nor does the rest of you.
But if your skin isn’t quite Huck Finn tough enough, you can now try these semi-barefoot shoes. I’ve been hearing about several brands of shoes that are something like these–minimal shoes, anyway. These are the first I’ve seen with toes in them!
I guess they help you feel the round better and build up unused low-leg —and foot— muscles. Barefooting, or using shoes like these, also improves your overall stability and balance.
