[BUMP from 10/13/07, which was bumped from 10/5/04] It’s the prettiest time of year around Michigan. Our boy just had his birthday. During ‘his’ week the sassafras trees in the front yard light up like, well, birthday candles—roman candles, more like. Every year. They were lit up when he came home from the hospital. Light ’em! So here‘s our front yard—several pics showing the splendor. No half-measures for fall around here! OH YEAH!
In other news… these days I’m splitting firewood—getting my full 7 times warmed there. And Henry is learning the game now, too—stack it bark up.
I put the cover on the pool—I took my last swim of the year a few days ago.
It’s finally getting cold. A friend and I are going to play one last session of tennis in our coats before they take down the nets.
But we haven’t had a frost yet! …And the raspberries were producing a quart a day up til last week. It was a full month of berry action!
