I am pleased to mention that for the past while OYB has had the privilege of the assistance of an enthusiastic and talented outdoorsman, a fellow bike and boat buff (and old climber besides): Robert Mosher.
He is a local kindred spirit who wanted to pitch in. He’s been making it possible for OYB to get twice as much done as before, on the much-needed bookstore front as well as the sports innovation front — with the acquisition and launching of what is now the only commercially available high performance canoe pole.
(I’d long been talking up the poling game, but Robert nudged me into helping to make poling easier for folks to get rolling with. Just telling people to find or make their own with this rather scarce, pricey and awkward to manage long tubing wasn’t going to do much for boosting participation.)
The dream of releasing an updated, and thus much larger, “catazeen,” a new website, and ebook versions of OYB titles, as well as an expanded, much higher quality online bookstore is now much more likely. These achievements would lift the project into viability.
So, thanks, Robert, and welcome to OYB. I hope it can give you as much as you’re giving it!
