In case you wondered, or knew and forgot, or whatever… I only want to drink Jeroboams or Methuselahs, myself. That’s a real bottle. I’ve seen em with decent red wine as cheap as $75.

*Bottle — 750ml — Standard bottle size, some refer to it as a ‘fifth’

*Magnum — 1.5 Liters — Two standard bottles in one

*Double Magnum — 3.0 Liters — Equivalent of 4 standard bottles

*Jeroboam — 4.5 – 5 Liters — Two sizes: or Rheoboam for sparkling wine Jeroboam (3.0 Liters) is equal to 4 standard bottles; Still wine Jeroboam (4.5) equivalent to 6 standard bottles. You can, sometimes, find a 5.0 liter Jeroboam

*Imperial — 6.0 Liters — 8 standard bottles; traditionally bottled in a Bordeaux-shaped bottle; or, Methuselah for Champagne

*Methuselah — 6.0 Liters — Used for sparkling wine in Burgundy-shaped bottle; same size as the Imperial

*Salmanazar — 9.0 Liters — 12 standard bottles, 1 case

*Balthazar — 12.0 Liters — 15 bottles of wine; usually for sparkling wines

*Nebuchadnezzar — 15.0 Liters — 20 standard bottles of wine, used mostly for sparkling wine
