I’ve been remiss in not reporting much about the best part of summer: the fresh garden food!
8/23: We’ve been rockin’ it hard — peaches, tomatoes, basil, sweet corn and beets.
…Let’s hear it for the BLT!
Now our raspberries are hittin’ it hard and heavy. The plants are taller than I am, by far, yet they’re arching way down with the load of berries. [UPDATE 8/25: 3/4’s of the berry patch is cleaned up and ready for action! Rockin’! Turning a garden from jungle to glory is a very satisfying thing to do.]
Not to get ahead of myself, but just as the garden starts slowing down the guy down the street will set out his apples and jugs of cider at his roadside stand. Yeah! (And I’ll go hit my two wild apple trees, too.)
