Here’s a few little tips about how to avoid colds and flu’s this winter…

1. Don’t touch your face.

2. Wash hands after being in public.

3. Drink lots of water.

4. Avoid snotty kids.

5. Drink/eat carbs, electrolytes after exercise.

6. Change out of sweaty/wet/damp after exercise.

7. Wear wool or polypro—prevents chills

When you do find yourself catching one of these nasties, do what Pete, the US XC Ski Team Coach, does. –And you know that XC skiers deal with colds and nasties more than anyone else. He says to catch the cold as early as possible and to nail it with Zicam nasal spray and zinc lozenges. That’s his recipe. He says it’s proven to shorten colds. It probably couldn’t hurt to hit it with some Vit C and echinacea. Catch em early! –And good luck!
