Every mid-June sees hundreds of paddlesport maniacs hit a 260-mile network of rivers in Texas and race for several days.
The TWS is basically the grand-daddy of the world’s top 6 or so crazy paddle marathons.
It’s a hot event. Many racers wear trademark white outfits.
A unique kind of boat has also been developed for this event—a 4+-person open kayak.
But all kinds of craft are seen enduring the travails of this weird multi-day event.
