He’s in his late 60’s and has been riding along with each day’s Tour stage for many years now. He camps along the way, self-supported. Every day he gets up and rides the whole stage before the racers come through. He gives great insights into the conditions, culture, scenery and events of each stage. He’s more a culture guy than a blow-by-blow race commentator, but you won’t find any better writing on France and this race out there.
