The subhead of his report about the multiple records set at this marathon says it all: “The Year of the Recumbent.”
This is a mass-start event. Danny reports being shocked at having more recumbents than upright bikes in the lead pack for this event. He and the other uprighters mused that it was like riding in a swarm of insects.
He and several ‘bents finished together with a new course record of 267 miles in 12 hours.
