I’ve long thought that MI needs an Epic. Sure, the Lumberjack 100 is also an epic, but but… it goes ’round and ’round one trail system. A true epic Goes Big. It crosses the state or something. Not to take away from the L100, which sells out every year and is certainly Big. The trails it is on are Big, too. And I’m not even sure that 100 miles quite gets into Epic country. It’s close, tho!
We need an event that rivals — no, surpasses — epics like the Dirty Kanza 200-mile gravel grinder out west there a ways. It should showcase the glory of Michigan.
