I’d like to make up some OYB jersies. I suppose they’d be mostly for biking, but because OYB is about more than biking maybe these jersies could be used for more than biking.
My inclination is to have them cut a bit loose and for them to use heavier, nonshiny, non-skin-tight fabric.
They’d be made by Young Originals of Detroit—this is a shop run by the parents of a couple World Champion bike and speedskate racers. They sewed up my first ski uniform decades ago at a great price—and they’re still at it.
The finished tops would sell for $50.
The main idea is that they would look good and have nice colors and express the theme: bike boat ski (…skate…run). There would be a general outdoor nature theme.
I was hoping it might look OK as streetwear even.
We could set it up with pockets in front and back—more useful, versatile.
Maybe it would make a decent paddle, run, ski top as well…
You can design using photo images. The jersey can easily be made with dye sublimation. I can provide the right-sized image template to design on.
(I was thinking it could include an image of wheel, paddle, ski…)
Oh, it also has to have an easy-to-see OutYourBackDoor.com on it. Maybe an OYB, maybe a “Team OYB” if you like. Maybe also a slogan, like “everyday outdoor media” or some such.
I designed a cute jersey myself, and maybe I should just go with it, but maybe it’s a bit too “loud.” Well, I think I could have several variants—Y.O. doesn’t hit you with big set-up charges. Sporty cyclists might prefer a loud jersey. Anyway, I used the “blank” Performance club jersey—but you can’t dye sublimate on it! (Colored jersies stain/smear if you dye them.) You have to do vinyl silkscreen on that jersey–ugh! Sweaty! I feel weird having YO duplicate the Perf jersey just because I can’t think of anything better.
I was thinking the jersey should include the colors: water-blue, green and earth-gold.
Well, lemme know!
Whoever comes up with the winning “camera ready” design gets a free jersey!
