July, 2004: After clearing our little lot “Up North” by Baldwin, Michigan, on the Pere Marquette river, I finally powered the trailer thru a narrow gap in the trees and the family spent the weekend camping in the woods. We had quite the serendipitous time, starting out with accidentally being able to hear our favorite bluegrass fiddler play right down the road from our lot. Then he dared to have dinner with us! Here’s a report and pics of the full-on mayhem, including an imposing view of at least one participant. I daresay I did catch lunch in a half hour, to boot.

June: Two-Track City Heaven…They say a picture is worth a thousand words. And sometimes maybe I write too much. So check these two pics out from my overnight trip batching it up north. You can do a whole lotta this up there…

late-May: My first solo upnorth getaway…The mission was to go up, clear the lot, build a trail, sleep by the river, ride the bike, and paddle the boat. Done! (Whew!) Read more.

mid-May: Team OYB takes first camping trip north! We load up the rig and get on up to our new getaway at Idlewild on May 15, for our first family visit. Nifty adventures and photos!
