There’s a Springtime warm-up to a huge season of Atlatl action at the Chelsea Rod’n’Gun Club.
Spring Knap-In: Michigan Flintknappers- 4/5
Artisans demonstrate ancient art of chipping razor sharp tools from stone. They’ll show you how to do it, too! Members of the Great Lakes Primitives demonstrate stone age technologies for things such as starting a fire or making cordage from plant materials. Also, the Michigan Atlatl Association holds its “Paleo Thing Spring Fling.” Noon – 4 pm. Chelsea Rod & Gun Club, mid-Michigan. $10 range fee for flingers. For more information please call (810) 231-2314
The Big Show Comes to Town!
On the weekend of July 10-12, the Chelsea Rod’n’Gun Club will host the WORLD Atlatl Championship! People will be coming from all over to fling ’em. Come, watch and be amazed. Or try your hand! But be prepared: this will be the Bullseye Crowd.
In the Meantime…
Before the World’s and after the Spring Fling, there’s a Cinco de Mayo Fling at Phil’s house (look it up). So there’s plenty of mid-Michigan spear-chucking action for everyone this summer.
