Hong Kong Action!

Once a Thief cover A very early John Woo flick that shows us why Chow Yun Fat rocks as a worldclass lead actor. Great action, story and style. Fine intro to the art of choreographed action scenes. Did they really do that? Yeah. ….And it’s more than you can do or your wimpy Hollywood friends. A return of filmmaking and acting to manliness and bravado. To dare to make a film this way. Some silly people say that HK flicks are hokey, “staged” as it were. Uh, what movies

aren’t? The ones where the actors are chicken to do anything? Hollywood

car chases and fight scenes and shootouts are….realistic? It’s like once

you admit that pro-sports are rigged, the sky is the limit for creativity.

There’s a reason why action scenes are called set-pieces. And this movie

shows you that reason. Trump. Never settle for less.

Fong Sai Yuk cover The most mind boggling fight scenes that just keep trumping each other. Watch this on the biggest, best screen you can. This flick ups its own ante about 6 times. The first action scene that’s better than anything you’ve ever seen starts in the first 10 seconds. And it’s a great story, too. A great introduction to the magical style of HK fantasy fighting. See why HK has transformed

moviemaking. Avoid imitations.

The Heroic Trio cover  Ladies! I said LADIES! These babes are the best! Just gorgeous, smart, and they will kick your butt but good. Nothing to compare in Hollywood. 5X more than Hollywood chicks can imagine. Michelle Yeow….YEOW! My fave leading lady. So regal. So hot! This movie has more style, fashion and fight action than you can shake a stick at. A great intro to scary, spooky, gross sorcery

fighting.

Drunken Master 2 coverALIGN=”BOTTOM” WIDTH=”76″ HEIGHT=”140″ NATURALSIZEFLAG=”3″> Jackie can do things that you can’t. Can’t imagine, that is. He gets drunk then fights. And drinks. While fighting. And drinking. And being drunk. Beating people up as he teeters around, falls down. The art of unpredictable movement. That’s what it is. And Jackie knows. Comedy. He takes his lead from Buster Keaton, patron saint of physical acting and comedy.

Police Story cover Great stunts and huge, huge set pieces, like they can’t make in this country.
