On Oct. 16 the destroyed old Dorais Velodrome in Detroit will come BACK FROM THE DEAD!
Local dudes are fixing up the abandoned bike race track and hosting a crazed race party for ALL kinds of bikes and interesting vehicles.
Costumes allowed, I think.
There are classes for mtbike, road, track … moped… motorscooter.
It’s not your usual velodrome race coz it’s not you usual track!
Even 20 years ago when it was being used weekly it was a wreck. The last race I did on the track was a rockin’ Madison there. You had to watch out for the cracks and kinda jump your bike sideways in places. (Now there’s a sweet new track out in Bloomer Park in the ‘burbs.)
