RAAM: Three Recumbent Teams Doing Great!

You are currently viewing RAAM: Three Recumbent Teams Doing Great!

It’s a great year for recumbents at RAAM.

Barbara Buatois of France is in the lead — on a recumbent — by a couple hundred miles, approx., at TS 38, 2138 miles into it. I can’t find any Splits info or Commentating as relates to the 9 day (and a few hours) women’s overall record. Does BB have a chance at it? She’s a rookie racer and if she makes it she’ll be the first female recumbent finisher.

Tim Woudenberg — ‘bent — is in the lead for Masters Men and moving up in the overall — riders have been dropping out — neck issues, often. Go ‘bent!

Team Bent-up is in 3rd in the 4-man teams, but the first four all seem to be within 1-3 hrs of each other so anything can happen.

Sandy Earl was also riding ‘bent, but she DNF’ed. She was also a rookie and they very often have to take a couple tries to finish. She did a great ride! Got 1788 miles!
