Quietwater Symposium: Michigan’s Indoor Outdoor Fest! 3/6

It’s tomorrow!

The 15th annual QWS will be a great way to spend the day learning new things, making new friends. Bust up that cabin fever!

(Spending the day XC skiing in a prime locale up north would have to come second to this, I’m afraid. Well, it might be a tie.)

The QWS sounds like it might be just boating, but it’s not — it’s all the outdoor quiet activities that the Midwest has to offer. It’s Michigan’s only allround outdoor sports show! (I’m pretty sure.)

But there IS a lot of small boats and kayaking. And workshops for using, building and repairing/restoring the same.

And didja know it’s the only university-sponsored volunteer-run outdoor trade show in the USA? (That’s what I’ve heard.) Education come first at this show! It’s the true Land Grant spirit!

The McGuffin family (of canoe adventurers and photographic Ontario ambassadors) is a frequent presenter — this year they’ll be highlighting their trips tracing the paths of the Group of Seven Painters. Wow! A favorite topic of mine.

Cliff Jacobson is a top camping and canoeing expert and teacher — he’ll have a couple lectures full of superhelpful info.

Here’s a list of goodies…
