West Side Bookshop

West Side Bookshop is a rare oldstyle great bookstore, in Ann Arbor.

They have new and old books, but only GOOD ones. Some fancy, others thrifty, as reason dictates, but only GOOD ones.

There's no space to waste on bad ones.

Jay & Doug have been sponsors of OYB since I started it back in 1991. They've each had their own periods of wild-hair-itis and apparently they appreciate seeing it in others. They judge for themselves.

I recall how they were the only place you could buy a bibliography of Henry Miller works. No 'real' press was interested in publishing this large and scholarly resource for one of America's best writers. The tiny one-man Roger Jackson Press did it in a deluxe binding...and West Side helped out.

I've been in the store when they were dealing with high-end book repairs and conservation as well. They can handle it all. They know books.
