If you don't know, the ULA is a group of activists, readers and writers who are opening up the American literary scene to true independence and renewed vitality. We've been making good strides against the MFA-cabal for a couple years now. We're telling those who care about literature to start looking to the underground and zeens and DIY publishing for a change. Like music and film did much longer ago. If you think reading needs a freshen-up, join us.
What's on tap this weekend:
Friday July 15:
*2:30 pm, downtown Philly. ULAers and media members meet for an informal press conference & strategy session. (RSVP at LitRev.com if you intend to come).
*8 pm, Ellen Powell Tiberino Museum courtyard, 3819 Hamilton St. (off Lancaster Ave.) ULA stars take the stage at the Carnevolution festival. Lit-readings and rock bands!
