Welcome to OYB Press!
March 13, 2007

"Been there, done that, looking for more" media is hard to find. I publish books and magazines that meet that standard. And here they are! Welcome to the OYB Press shop section of the website!

OYB Press titles are divided up by subjects that you can easily click on in the left side of the website.

Here's the deal: I publish and resell books and other media that are significant but neglected, in a wide range of areas. These are either new titles or collectibles that I've dug up.

And I've started two other imprints to reflect major topics: ULA PRESS covers worldclass literature and Fifth Way Press present new classics in religious-questing work.

I have yet another bookstore called BookWorld (lower in the lefthand menubar) that I've set up via Amazon Associates, to spread the good word about a bunch of titles that I don't publish or stock. (There's only so much one guy can do!) I do the same with Music and Videos.

My goal is to put you onto good, hard-to-find, sleeper, unpromoted media that can give your life a boost.

If you like OYB, if you like the 'do it yourself' spirit, you'll like these books. I pick and publish books that show initiative. I pick books that are cross-training for the brain---that are, say, poetic if the usual books in that field are how-to. I pick books that are needed for healthy culture and are otherwise lacking---they're redundant to nothing else out there. They fill much-needed holes in the cultures of the various fields I cover.

They work to include all of life, or at least the author's life. I don't like so-called objective, specialized books because there really is no such thing. You can't isolate yourself, so a bike book is never just about bikes, there's a culture at work. I like a bike book that comes right out front about it and works with it. This helps us knit our culture's tattered fabric back together. We need all the help we can get, from everything we do.

I also tend toward books which are what they call these days multi-genre or genre-benders---all in one book you might find memoir, history, inside info, recipes, sketches, photos, beautiful design and layout.

Enjoy!
