Classic Canvas Rucksack w/ 3-Pockets & Clips
April 19, 2010

$25 (inc. S/H)

[$25 postpaid in the USA] Here's a nifty 3-pocket canvas daypack, the Dakota. Packs set up in such a great configuration are very rare (sadly) and usually far more expensive. It's similar to the Small ALICE pack, but a bit bigger...and cheaper.

Man, I like the 3 pockets: they really let you keep smallish things organized. Yet hardly any thrifty packs are set up this way.

The plastic "click"-clip buckles are also very handy. The photo shows velcros on the pockets, but they actually have plastic easy-clips instead. Quick'n'tidy!

I only have this pack in Camo right now. At 19" x 14" x 7" it's a bit bigger than the German Alpine pack.

(Here's a sample set-up for your 3 pockets... Put tools of the trade (multitool, ammo, scents, calls) that might get dirty in one pocket; snacks and water in another; and map, compass, cam, mini-binocs, flashlight, dry hat'n'gloves in the 3rd. Stash extra clothes, pad, rope, trash bags, whatever, in the main area. Altogether, it makes for a tidy, handy day out.)

NOTE: I offer these items as a way to support the 1000+ free articles on this website, giving a view into independent outdoor culture like no other media source. That is, there is no longer a subscription to a print magazine, but I still need to make a living with this media. So please buy this quality, hard-to-find luggage if ya need it!
